Energy independence must become a priority. We have the ability to be self sufficient, and at the same time replace all of those lost jobs .
Producing off shore oil, tapping into the oil shale oceans beneath the Rockies, opening up ANWAR, developing out trillions of cubic feet of gas reserves, promoting wind and other alternate sources of replenishable energy, and producing safe nuclear resources.
All of the above will reignite our economy. People will have new jobs and the new technology would free us from our foreign masters. Housing would be come desirable with steady income.
Sounds like a win, win to me.
