I just don’t get it. What is happening to our society?
Another Shooting!!! More death on campus. More kids killed by wanton shootings. WHY!? WHY?
When I was growing up, and for the entire history of Western Civilazation, this did not happen. Oh occasionally we would have a crazy do something stupid, but this is becoming a very frightening trend, which defies logic, and logic is what I live by.
Seven more kids died yesterday, and more are in the hospital.
What has gone wrong in our society, that is breeding these wanton acts of savagery?
Is our sociert just crumbling because of too much permissive behavior?
Has old Dr Spock with his overly permissive hands off approach to child rearing, finally destroyed our parental controls and moral teachings?
I don’t believe in hitting, bullying, or physically abusing anyone weaker than myself( If you want to be a big shot bully, pick on someone your own size), But, my 3 sons grew up knowing to respect their Father, and each of then got 1 small( Hurt me more than them) spank at a critical moment in their development.
I’m sure they don’t remember, but they responded with the intelligence borne from the knowledge that someone who loved them had provided some structure and discipline.
They are fine young men, and I am so very proud of them.
Perhaps some of society’s problem are caused by over medication. ADD,ADA,BBC,QXT, we’ve come up with a whole alpabet of problems which we can cure by drugs. Prozac, Gozac,Dozac,…What ever, we are medicating our youngsters to the point of driving them crazy,and turning them into depressed, and homicidal..strangers….Who are they, and who are we becoming?
It is time to fight back. Take back our moral high ground, stop all the anti depressants and other perscription,”quick fix” drugs, which obviously make matters worse…much worse.
Medicine when you need it, not for lazy answers to difficult parenting problems. If you don’t know how to deal with pain in the A.. kids(and they all are at some point) THEN DON’T HAVE KIDS..
