The Adventures of Charlie Champion

This morning my alarm clock woke me at 5:50 AM, I took my shower, puttered around, got dressed with the following:

1    T shirt short sleeve

1     T shirt long sleve

1     Thermal top, long sleve

1     Heavy weight dress shirt with tie(In addition to being proper business attire, the tie helps to keep my neck warm.)

1     Sweater

1     Pair thermal bottoms

1     Pair semi dressy, heavy weight jeans

1    Pair double thick insulated socks

1    Very long heavy scarf

1    WW II style wool lined hat with silly looking ear flaps(they are blessedly warm) that snap under the chin to hold secure and warm. It was so cold that I didn’t care that I looked like the original ” Schmuck with ear laps”.

1   Heavy leather bomber jacket

1   Pair fur lined gloves.

Looking like quite the dork, I went to the front door, put on Matilda’s collar.(She is my puppy, actually a Dingo) , and opened the door.

The blast of cold air took my breath away.

As I walked , briskly, up and down the block, so that Matilda could do her business, my finger tips slowly turned to ice, and I began to loose feeling in my toes.

I looked up to the Heavens, my eyes teering from the 50 MPH icy wind, and muttered” Global Warming,  my……… foot”
