"People are worried and stressed, and looking for something…anything to strike back at."

Good thing the people have become too complacent for anything major to occur. Remember the days of true protests and civil unrest? While definitely a trying time, they were also a time of action, and civil unrest, where people took responsibility for what occurred and tried to change it. But, as sad as we are with the current situation, I would much rather play my wii and then watch the big game, and then go out to Best Buy and purchase the newest overpriced ipod and take pictures of it and post in on my myspace page.

The Clinton economic boom was started in the Regan Presidency with Reganomics which is trickle down economics.
Raising taxes is the way to stop growth.
In our little world, if my business taxes are raised it will force me to close my business and put all those people out of work.
Tadx and spend, giving money to the poor in the form of Welfare doesn't create jobs or new wealth, it just shifts it from a productive company to a bunch people who will spend it but not create new
Leave more money in my hands and as you have seen, I crfeate new things and pay good salaries to my people(who were the lower economic class before I came around)

Trickle down economics wasn't exactly great for people either. Also, the last Democratic president managed to create a significant surplus. Lower taxes isn't going to help pay off all of the debt that the country has acquired over the past decade...or 2. And there's a lot of debt. How much of those tax dollars goes to paying interest on our national debt?

The way I see it, and I feel as if I speak for many people on this, is that it's all a matter of the greater good, and looking towards the future. Yea, it's going to be pretty bad right now. Death and taxes, right? But when I'm older, I don't want my children to inherit a national debt that's beyond comprehension. I don't want them to not have health insurance because they can't afford it (like I've done). And besides, tax and spend liberals is a term used to belittle people who's politics lean towards the left. If nothing else, look at the past few Republican presidents, and try tell me that they cut taxes and at the same time cut federal spending and helped balance the national budget.

Let me tell you how proud of you I am.
Your dialogue is intelligent and insightful, although filtered through the idealism of youth.
If your guy wins, I hope we don't live to regret the results.
Freedom is a very precious commodity, not seen very often in world history.
Idealogues who are convinced they are right, and who walk in a circle of extreme like minded people are dangerous.
I'm sure He is a good guy, just a little misguided, and with the potential to change our country irrevocably and forever.
I hope I am wrong, and that this too shall pass.
Socialism and Communism are failures over and over again, and I would hate for an Idealogy to bring down our Great Country.

In all fairness, I'm agreeing in essence that socialism doesn't necessarily work, because people as a whole are lazy and take advantage of the system. I may not remember communism, having been in diapers and cute pajamas at the time, but I know what happened. That doesn't mean that the current system is the best and only option. And as far as creation is concerned, people will always strive to create things, whether there is economic incentive or not. The best cartoons aren't made by people trying to make some money, they are made by people who respect and love cartoons for the joy and the art and everything about it. Art in general is like that. And many other things. And if a scientist thinks he is going to get rich by researching cancer at a university for 30 years, he is probably wrong. Why do you continue to paint after all?

Oh, and I've heard about that push by the Clinton administration that led to the bubble in the first place. Interesting how nobody is clear of blame, huh?
