Since when is it racist to question someones politics and judgement

What has happened to our Country.

What has happened to our culture.

The world we all knew when we were growing up…Where is it?

We used to be a diverse but united nation.

Now it’s all different.

Broken.

Everything is divisive.

Everything is racist.

Everything is pushing Americans out of the political center.

We are being polarized.

What happened to being Americans, with different perspectives, but a common love of Country?

A nation must have a common purpose.

We must  survive. We are the greatest Nation on Earth, and at this time in history, the World needs us to be that beacon of light.

Stagflation, 1970’s and 2008, What good can come from bad.

The last real recession we experienced in this country took place in the mid late 70’s, and continued into the beginning of the Regan years.

Inflation topped 14 percentand unemployment was between 6 and 10 percent depending upon location.

The cost of food and fuel were increasing dramatically, and shortages created additional upward pressure on prices.

Disco dancing, mood rings, and bell bottom pants were part of our landscape, and  the end of the Viet Nam War, and the election of Jimmy Carter as President were significant political events.

Thinking back on those days, I don’t remember the sacrifice or pain , in fact I seem to remember those days with a mixture of pride, humor and nostalgia.

Most people couldn’t afford new cars, so we drove used cars, and paid for things as we bought them.

Those of us who used credit cards, had maybe one or two cards, and usually saved them for emergencies.

We rented apartments, or rented  houses if we couldn’t afford the down payment to purchase.

Cell phones and the internet did not exist, and gym memberships were usually to the Y M C A , at a token cost.

Recessions are obviously painful events, but there are some positive things that can develop, Sort of a silver lining to a dark cloud.

10 blessings hidden in a recession.

1. We save money by eating at home. Family dinners mean family bonding, better balanced meals, fewer drugs, and better mental health for the next generation of Americans.

2. We are driving less, driving down the cost of gasoline due to less demand.

3 Less telemarketing and junk mail. Junk e mail is easier to delete, and doesn’t cause pollution and waste trees for paper.

4. More use of coupons as people try to stretch their dollars.

5. Switching to less costly exercise plans.Forget the gym, how about the school yard, or a school gym.

6. Smaller less expensive automobiles and trucks, with much better gas mileage.

7. Many new opportunities to create new businesses. ” When a door closes, a window opens.”

8. Bring back the Victory garden. Gardening is health outdoor work, and fresh fruits and veggies are healthy for you.

9. Bad times create inspiration for literature and music.(see “The Blues” )

10. Rough economic times makes people look at the world from a different perspective. Spoiled is out, appreciation for what you have is good.

Ready or not, here it comes   1 …   2  …   3  …

What are those distressed assets we are buying?

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

What are those distressed assets we will be buying?

What are the failed mortgages that have precipitated this crisis?

The affirmative action, social engineering  dictates of the mid 90’s have resulted in low income families, buying houses they could not afford.  Of course they were the first to fail when house values dropped.

Where are these low income houses located?

In low income or lower middle class , or working class neighborhoods.

As these houses go into forclosure, people stop repairing the houses,  and eventually abandon the houses, resulting in vast neighborhoods of empty houses.

Which fall into disrepair, and eventually become crack houses, or flop houses, until they collapse into rubble.

These are the distressed assets we are buying from the banks, so they can escape losse.

What??????????

Can I buy a huge wild speculative something, have the government bail me out, and continue buying new ones, until I get lucky, tghen screw the taxpayers by stealing everything I can get my hands on…………

WOW, My Turn!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you can keep your head when those about you

If you can keep your head when those about you are loosing theirs and blaming it on you.

That day you are a man my son….

How can our entire political system be running in circles?

How can our society be so broken and so dysfunctional?

Where are the American Heroes of yesterday?

Why do we depend upon a 2 party system which breeds greed, self service, and moral , ethical and financial  selfishness.

Why do both political parties feel like they look down at the American people.

Who made the elected officials, and Hollywood air heads act like elitist overlords, telling us what to think, what to do and how to do it?

When will a leader arise, who can keep his head on straight, and who can actually work on behalf of The United States of America?

Time is running short, and we need someone to step forward.

Do not bail out the thieves-Is there a conflict of interest?

You couldn’t make this stuff up. The Secretary of the Treasury, a gentleman named Paulson, was employed by a company called Goldman Sachs.

His job title at Goldman was C E O . I may be getting a little confused, but CE O used to stand for Chief Executive Officer.  The Boss.

He left that job(some job) to become Treasury Secretary, a few years ago

Now correct me if I’m wrong, this banking crisis has been brewing for several decades, apparently overlaping some of Mr Paulsons time on the job.

Doesn’t that mean that he is somewhat complicit in what has happened?

It also strikes me as a somewhat unusual coincidence, that Goldman Sachs is the” Last Man Standing” , and is  positioned to generate  huge amounts of profits from this proposed bailout.

WHAT!!!! I’m sure that this is all just a coincidence. “Dumb luck” . as they say.

Why can’t I have that type of dumb luck??? I guess I should have stayed on The Street, instead of leaving for other opportunities. Who knows, perhaps It could have been me as recipient of a bail out, or possible and tragically I could have chosen to work at Bear Stearns or Merrill , or one of the others, and would be forced to live on lesser bailouts.

A few hundred million would at least enable me to get by.

Before the Beginning-The Big Bang

Before the Beginning , The Big Bang and other thoughts

by

Charlie Champion

Before the Beginning , existed THE ONE, THE ALL, THE CREATOR.

He was ready to create; to initiate existence.

He took a small piece of Himself. He applied a spark. A flash of brilliance.

The Bang, The Big Bang, THE BIG BANG ignited Creation. It expanded

exponentially, everywhere spreading , creating and evolving.. The Matter that had

been The One was now THE DAWN .

That original piece of the Creator that He had lovingly given to Creation was now part

of everything and everything was part of Him..

The emptiness that had been Pre-Creation was not pleasing to the Creator. He said,” LET

THERE BE LIGHT ” , and a billion, billion stars ignited, filling the void with spectacular

beauty.

The Celestial Heavens exploded in a BIG BANG , an ever expanding rush of Creation..

Do not believe the Wall Street rally

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

My dear friends,

I have told you a number of times during the past 24-36 months, ” do not believe the short term  rallies in the market.”

The economy is in bad shape, and still needs another 18 months to bottom out.

This is assuming that Obama does not get reelected.

If he wins a second term, all bets are off.

When I say bottom out, the last part of this shakeout will be the worst part. As a people we Americans are very adaptable, and have a short memory.

They have gotten us used to a lower standard of living. Gas at 3.75 a gallon is better than 4.25, but still better part of .80-.90 higher than last year.

We are told to drive less, to carpool, and to stock up on sweaters for the winter.  …And  we do it, setling into a less comfortable standard of living.

We are told the rest of the World will love us again if me freeze in the winter, sweat in the Summer,  eat less , and stock up on foods that are generic, and cheaper, meanwhile less fresh and healthy.

Well the rest of the world does not love us, and eating cheap fatty foods is well represented in the spreading rear ends of the American population.

I don’t want to be cold in the winter. I don’t like bulky sweaters. I’ve worked all my life and feel that i’ve earned the right to wear what I want, and heat and air condition my surroundings any way that I choose.

All we have to do is find or keep a job, and pray that inflation and a dropping Stock Market doesn’t wipe out what little we have leftafter loosng our homes.

Sell this bill of goods to someone else.

Beware the Market, especially if the Tax and spend party wins again and does its thing.

America we are in trouble
